Specifically, we’re looking for skilled manufacturing and electrical technicians to assemble simple and complex hardware systems for our self-driving vehicles in a prototype environment. This includes vehicle build, sub-assembly PCBA solder/rework, and harness assembly. Candidates must have a deep passion for robotics and implementing future technologies into cars and trucks.

About the role

Aurora hires talented people with diverse backgrounds who are ready to help build a transportation ecosystem that will make our roads safer, get crucial goods where they need to go, and make mobility more efficient and accessible for all. Aurora is hiring highly skilled Technicians who have great attention to detail, are experts at problem-solving, assembling simple and complex hardware systems in a Manufacturing prototype environment.  Candidates must have a deep passion for cars, and, trucks and implementing future technologies.

In this role, you will

  • Work as a Manufacturing Technician building Aurora’s self-driving vehicles - this Includes vehicle build, sub-assembly, PCBA solder/rework, and harness assembly.
  • Candidates must possess excellent documentation practices.
  • Work closely with Hardware Engineering and associated teams.
  • Follow safety standards and meet internal deadlines.
  • Work with limited oversight.
  • Seek continuing education and development opportunities. 

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience in automotive, trucking, or prototyping spaces
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, ERP, PLM, CAD, and various other software tools  
  • Must possess excellent communication skills
  • Deep knowledge of automotive and trucking systems, tooling, and mechanical assemblies
  • Strong electrical skills, ability to read wiring schematics and layouts, and assemble wiring harnesses
  • Ability to problem-solve, diagnose, analyze and isolate problems
  • Proficiency with Windows, Mac, and Linux
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment
  • A can-do customer service attitude with the ability to multitask under pressure in an unstructured environment 

Desirable Qualifications

  •  IPC training and certification in the following: IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/7721
  • Certification and training in GD&T
